TRT in Manitoba: getting assessed
In Manitoba a family physician or nurse practitioner can order the morning blood tests and prescribe. If you have no regular provider, Family Doctor Finder matches you with a home clinic, and Health Links Info Santé gives free advice from nurses at any hour. Manitoba Pharmacare lists five testosterone products as Part 1 benefits and pays after an annual deductible set from your family income.
If you have a family doctor or nurse practitioner
Book a regular appointment and describe what you are noticing rather than asking for a testosterone test by name. The morning blood work is ordered by the clinician you see. Nurse practitioners can order tests and prescribe within their scope; whether any clinician starts testosterone is a clinical decision.
If you do not have one
- Family Doctor Finder. Register online, or by phone at 204-786-7111 in Winnipeg or 1-866-690-8260 toll-free, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It finds you a home clinic with family doctors, nurse practitioners or both.
- Health Links Info Santé. 204-788-8200 in Winnipeg or 1-888-315-9257 elsewhere. Staffed by nurses 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and free everywhere in Manitoba.
- Same-day and next-day clinics. Manitoba Health points to Medinav.ca for booking extended-hours primary care, minor injury and illness, and QuickCare clinics, and to walk-in clinics. They can order blood work. Whether one will start and follow a long-term treatment varies, so ask when you book.
What Manitoba Pharmacare covers
The Manitoba formulary lookup, with data last updated 23 September 2026, lists five testosterone products as Part 1 benefits: testosterone cypionate 100 mg/mL (Depo-Testosterone and Taro-Testosterone Cypionate), testosterone enanthate (Delatestryl and a generic 200 mg/mL) and oral testosterone undecanoate 40 mg (Taro-Testosterone). No testosterone gel is listed.
Pharmacare is for Manitobans with Manitoba Health coverage whose prescriptions are not covered by another provincial or federal program. You enrol once with a signed application and consent form. Each year you pay your eligible drug costs up to a deductible based on your adjusted family income, and Pharmacare pays eligible costs after that. The deductible is recalculated every 1 April; income from 2024 sets the deductible for the 2026 to 2027 benefit year.
Employer or private coverage has its own rules, and an online service that prescribes does not deal with Pharmacare for you.
Services that list Manitoba
2 of the 10 services in the dataset list Manitoba for testosterone on their own pages, in alphabetical order: Essential Clinic (online), UPGUYS (online). What each one charges, and what it leaves out, is in the providers table.
Gambit (online) and Science & Humans (online) include Manitoba on a general service list or an intake form. That is not the same as confirmed TRT availability in Manitoba, and it is not read that way here. Not listed for Manitoba: Enhanced Men's Clinic, Jack Health, Phoenix. Province list not confirmed: Gameday Men's Health, MHC, Sovereign Male.
No in-person clinic with a verified Manitoba address is in the dataset yet. A clinic enters these pages once at least three fields can be verified from public sources or confirmed directly with the clinic.
Services that publish a pharmacy in Manitoba
None of the providers in the dataset publishes a pharmacy located in Manitoba.
The providers that name a pharmacy name one in British Columbia or Ontario. If a service ships medication to you from another province, ask which pharmacy dispenses it and where that pharmacy is licensed. The one-line pharmacy field for every provider is on the providers page. Pharmacies located in Manitoba can be checked with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.
How to check a pharmacy or a clinician in Manitoba
- Pharmacies: the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba publishes a search for pharmacies and pharmacy professionals.
- Physicians: the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba publishes a physician search.
- Nurse practitioners: the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba publishes a registration lookup.
If a service will not tell you which pharmacy dispenses your prescription, that is a reasonable thing to insist on before you pay.
