Accessibility
This site aims at WCAG 2.1 level AA. Nothing on it needs JavaScript, every table is real HTML with proper headers, and the whole site can be used with a keyboard alone.
What that means in practice
- No content is hidden behind scripts. The province finder, every table and every link work with JavaScript turned off.
- The buttons that reorder the cost table and the rating cards, and the province filter on the providers table, are the only things that need JavaScript, and they appear only when it runs. Nothing is hidden without them: the same providers are on the page either way, in alphabetical order, which is the order the site uses by default. The filter only hides rows a reader chooses to hide, and "All provinces" brings them back.
- Tables use real table markup with row and column headers, so screen readers announce which provider and which component a cell belongs to.
- A skip link goes straight to the main content, and focus outlines are visible everywhere.
- Text colour meets AA contrast in both the light and the dark theme. The theme follows your operating system setting.
- Text can be resized to 200 percent without loss of content, and wide tables scroll inside their own container rather than pushing the page sideways.
- No animation, no automatic movement, no carousels and no video.
- Pages carry one heading structure, in order, with a single H1.
Known limits
- The site is published in English and in French. The French edition is a translation of the English, reviewed before publication; where the two differ, the English version prevails.
- Some tables are wide enough on a phone to need horizontal scrolling within the table area.
When something here is broken
