About this site
TRTCanada.ca is a reference on how testosterone deficiency is assessed in Canada, what the online, in-person and public routes are in each province, what treatment costs by category, and what each Canadian provider publishes and has confirmed about itself. Every figure carries the source it came from, the date it was checked, and a label saying whether the provider published it, confirmed it directly, or this site calculated it.
Editorial standards
- Published by
- TRTCanada.ca. The site names no individual author. What it is worth rests on the method below and on the sources named beside every figure, not on who typed it.
- Three kinds of figure
- Being fact-based means supporting a statement with evidence. It does not mean only repeating what is already published elsewhere. Every figure on the site is one of three things, and it says which. Published by provider: taken from the provider's own public page or document, shown with a link to that page, the date it was checked and any conditions attached. Confirmed directly with provider: obtained by this site's research team through email or a documented phone conversation, shown with the confirmation date, the method and the responding role; the correspondence or dated research note is kept internally, and a phone answer is attributed as provider-reported rather than as an audited fact. Editorial estimate, assumptions shown: a calculation by this site, such as a monthly equivalent or an annual cost scenario, shown with the sourced inputs, the calculation, the assumptions, the exclusions and the date; the assumptions sit in the same cell as the estimate. Regulators, statutes and review platforms are labelled as what they are.
- Not confirmed
- Where a figure is not published and nobody has confirmed it, the field says not confirmed. It is not a cross and not a zero. An absent number is never replaced with a typical one, and a published figure is never altered; an estimate is shown beside it, labelled, never in its place.
- Conflicts
- Where a provider's own pages disagree, both statements are kept and the difference is set out under the field rather than resolved silently in favour of one of them.
- Re-checking
- The provider dataset is re-checked monthly and the capture date on every page moves with it. Clinical statements come from published practice guidelines, review articles and Canadian product labelling, each cited with its date.
- Corrections
- Every substantive change is recorded in the changelog on the dataset page, with the date and what changed.
- Advertising rules
- The costs page and the provider records are checked against Canadian advertising rules for controlled drugs, including the provisions that change on 1 October 2026, and each check is recorded in the changelog. No page combines a product name with a benefit claim and a prompt to buy.
Original research
Where a provider's public pages leave a question open, such as a price, which provinces its testosterone service covers, whether a fee includes something, or how follow-up is arranged, this site may put the question to the provider directly. The same questions and the same verification standard apply to every provider. For a directly checked price, the exact product, strength, package size, included fees and any conditions are established, and written confirmation is preferred. What a provider confirms is published with the date, the method and the responding role, in a stable location so it can be cited, and it is refreshed as information changes. A question a provider has not answered stays not confirmed. Nothing about original research promises a search ranking or an AI citation; the aim is answers that are useful and traceable.
Which providers are included
- Inclusion. Every provider whose own public page offers testosterone assessment or treatment to adults in at least one Canadian province, online or in person, on the capture date.
- Order. Alphabetical by brand name in every list, table, profile and export. There is no overall score and no merit-based default ranking.
- Identical fields. Every provider gets the same fields, the same care format label (online, in person, or both), the same one-line dispensing pharmacy field with the licensing evidence under it, and the same cost categories. A provider that publishes less has more entries marked not confirmed, which is a fact about what it publishes rather than a judgement about it. Naming a pharmacy or printing a licence number is not a clinical-quality rating.
- Assessment is not treatment. Where a provider describes a testosterone assessment but its treatment offering is not confirmed, the record says so. Where a province appears on a provider's general service list or intake form, it is shown as such and never as confirmed TRT coverage.
- Brand names. Each provider is named as it names itself publicly. Legal entity names appear only in the legal entity field.
- In-person clinics. Included where at least three fields, including a street address, can be verified from public sources or confirmed directly with the clinic. Advertising addressed to a city does not by itself establish a clinic there.
- Removal. A provider whose testosterone offering cannot be confirmed at the next verification is removed, and the removal is recorded in the changelog.
How facts are handled
- Every provider fact is attributed, dated and labelled, in the form "published by provider: the provider's page, updated on this date, states".
- No superlatives, market share claims or patient counts are published as fact from any provider.
- Ratings and category rankings appear only as a dated platform display, with the platform, the exact category, the country, the denominator and the check date named, on the same terms for every provider, and never as evidence about clinical quality.
- Clinical statements cite published guidelines and Canadian product labelling. This site does not diagnose, assess eligibility or give a dose.
- Published charges are shown in seven categories, each with its billing interval, and a bundled item reads "included in" the named fee rather than being counted twice.
- Monthly and annual figures are editorial estimates, shown beside the published charge with the assumptions in the same cell. An estimate that is missing a fee is labelled a subtotal plus unconfirmed fees, never a total.
The full rules live in the site's repository as CONTENT-RULES.md, so that anyone
writing or checking a page is working from the same list.
How often this is checked
Provider fields and public drug plan pages are rechecked monthly, on the first Monday. Clinical pages are reviewed every six months, and sooner if a guideline or a safety notice changes. The current dataset was captured on 2026-09-12, with province and scope fields re-checked on 2026-09-28, and every page carries its own last-reviewed date. The dataset and its changelog are published at /data.
Corrections
Material errors about fees or availability are corrected when they are found, and every change is recorded in the changelog on the dataset page with its date. A provider that spots an error in its own record is treated no differently from any other reader, with no priority and no fee.
